After a bank robbery in Chambersburg on Monday, September 9, Shippensburg Students were alerted through many mediums via SU Alert Emergency Message System.
The alerts recieved through text message, e-mail and on campus workstations read:
at 5:38 p.m.
“SUALERT: State & University Police are in pursuit of a black minivan used in armed robbery with the vehicle traveling near campus. Suspects are armed and considered dangerous. Please take precautions and be aware of surroundings. Dial 911 if anything suspicious is seen.”
at 6:05 p.m.
“SUALERT: State Police and SU Police were in pursuit of a vehicle (black minivan) used in an armed robbery that was spotted in the area surrounding campus. That pursuit has ended. Suspects remain at large. Take the necessary precautions when traveling in and around campus. You are encouraged to call 911 if you observe any suspicious activity.”
