Shippensburg – Prison is isolating enough, but imagine being further isolated because of a disability. That’s the topic of a lecture sponsored by the Disability Studies Program.
Dr. Allison Carey, Liat Ben-Moshe and Chris Chapman will offer the lecture “Disability Incarcerated: Imprisonment and Disability in the United States and Canada.” The lecture will focus on the history behind incarceration and confinement of people with disabilities.
The speakers will also discuss alternative solutions to these problems. A discussion follows the lecture and is open to the audience. The lecture is Monday at 7:00 in the Old Main Chapel. It is free and open to the public.
