SHIPPENSBURG- The rugby team is facing more challenges this season than opponents on the field. After student senate cut their budget for violating rules in the Swataney, the student code of conduct the team is rebuilding. A few veterans are now off the team and new leadership is taking over with a positive attitude.
Jamison Barker, Vice President, says the team is working to show members want to contribute, “We want to be more involved in the community. We want to be more involved on campus. So we’re doing things like planning a high heel walk to support a women’s shelter.”
The team may also get some of its budget back if Student Senate is convinced the team has changed its way, “they could get 10 percent, 20 percent, full budget back whatever the appeal is, if approved, is what they will receive” stated Dominic Giovanniello, Student Senate President.
