Women’s Volleyball Falls to Gannon ending Historic season

Wheeling,W.V – Shippensburg women’s volleyball team capped off a historic season on Thursday (12/3).  The raiders finished the season with 30 wins the most in school history before falling to Gannon 3-1 in the 2015 NCAA Atlantic Region Quarterfinals at Wheeling Jesuit University.
The Raiders jumped out to a quick lead winning the first set 25-10 dominating the first set. Each set from then out was closely contested the raiders came up just short in each. Gannon finished off the day winning the final three sets 19-25,25-27,22-25.
Head coach Leanne Piscotty gave her senior class the credit, “ Our seniors Faith, Taylor and Laura are constantly breaking records and taking the program to the next level.” Senior Taylor Gottshall finished her career as one of only four players in PSAC history with more than 600 career blocks.
Even after the loss the raiders have a lot to be proud of, they became the first Shippensburg women’s volleyball team to win a PSAC title. Shippensburg finished the season (30-9) the best season in school history.
