SHIPPENSBURG – Poet Jennifer L. Knox came to Ship on Wednesday with her all too humorous poems. She reads these poems to the students hoping they will be able to take away feelings that are not black and white but grey. The grey area is what she hopes will help students understand how they fit into the world.
Knox says that poetry is not a test, there is no right or wrong answer. It is simply a way to express yourself in a certain way. For Knox, poetry is her ideal venue to express herself.
As for the colorful humor in her poems, she says that she likes it gritty but also likes it funny and surreal. She has always worked humor into her poems rationally but really enjoys doing it and loves to hear people laugh.
