SHIPPENSBURG- English professor Catherine Dibello wrote her 4th book, a bilingual textbook for students in Taiwan. Dr. Dibello lived in Taiwan for seven years over the course of her life, which inspired to write “Connections Through Writing”.
This experience was a very personal and enjoyable one for Dr. Dibello, saying she likes “being able to incorporate things that are happening to [her] and relating those to things students can identify with.”
One point that she wants people to take away from her experience is respect for other cultures.”I really think it is important to respect different cultures and languages and [writing this book] is one way of doing it.”
Dr. Dibello will read selections from “Connecting Through Writing” March 24th at Dauphin Humanities Center.
