Shippensburg, PA. – Another year has come where the town of Shippensburg will celebrate Irish heritage. What’s different about this year is that the local student body will be in attendance because fall break is over. This means some expected busy nights for the local restaurants and bars in town.
Mitchell Burrows, owner and general manager of University Grille, has spent the last 9 years of his life in Shippensburg and has seen the differences of St. Patrick’s Day depending on when spring break takes place.
“We want to make sure everybody has fun, but in a responsible way. The last two years was my first time being here when students weren’t on spring break. Everything went well, we just always want to make sure that everyone is celebrating responsibly,” said Burrows.
Some special dishes that will be served are corn beef and cabbage, finger link potatoes, and green beer. The green beer is simple yet something that is sure to catch local students eye’s.
