SHIPPENSBURG – Last week the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference head coaches named senior Grant Smith and Junior Kieran Sutton division indoor track and field athletes of the year. Smith has since finished his collegiate career with a three-time NCAA all-American in the shot put. On top of Sutton’s athlete of the year recognition he was also named the PSAC championship most valuable track athlete.

In addition to the runners’ ever-impressive track record, head coach Dave Osanitsch was named PSAC coach of the year.

Under Coach Osanitsch the track team placed and has made major strides with multiple place-winners in 10 of the 15 individual events of the indoor season and having at least one athlete score points in every event of the season.

Osanitsch’s coach of the year reward is a fine addition to track team’s ever growing collection for both the indoor and outdoor teams. The track team’s next meet will be tomorrow at Kutztown. To keep up to date with indoor track and field events visit the Shippensburg athletic website.
