SHIPPENSBURG – The Raiders football team put its strengths and weaknesses to the test last Saturday for the annual spring game. You couldn’t have asked for a sunnier day. Running back Cole Chippialle on the white team scored the game’s only touchdown with a 24-yard run after a pass from wide receiver Brady Forney. Quarterback Ryan Zapoticky, sporting a yellow jersey instead of white, finished 17-of-24 for 275 yards.
The red team’s defense put up a fight holding the white team’s offense to 306 yards for the game. Linebacker Tyler Emge led the red team in tackles with a total of nine.
The spring game ended with the white team taking a victory of 13-3 over the red team. The raiders won’t be playing again until their fall season in September taking on the yellow jackets in American internationals.
