SUTV Garners 2 Emmy Noms



Philadelphia, Pa. —

Shippensburg University Communication/Journalism collegiates and alumni have been nominated for 12 2016 NATAS Mid Atlantic Emmy awards. Among commercial professionals, five Communication/Journalism alumni garnered 10 nominations. Shippensburg Communication/Journalism undergraduates were nominated for two Emmys, one for our sports team and one for our news team. The nominations were announced in Philadelphia on August 9th.

The SUTV Sports Team was nominated for its live coverage of the, February 24th, Shippensburg basketball game and Make a Wish Foundation event. The team is competing with other colleges in the region like Penn State and Temple University.

The SUTV News Team was nominated for the individual public affairs/ community service report produced by Holly Harrar on an innovative college inclusion program. Holly, a May 2016 graduate of the Communication/Journalism program, is active in work for people with disabilities and used her platform on SUTV to bring attention to the possibilities of such programs for college aged people with disabilities. The report aired on SUTV News which broadcasts every Thursday night at 7 on SUTV.
