SHIPPENSBURG–For many students yoga is not apart of their weekly to-do lists.
The red raiders understand the importance of finding an escape from hectic schedules. Yoga can provide students with a way to clear there minds and calm their bodies.
Associated Director of Sports Medicine at Shippensburg University, Becky Fitz holds weekly yoga sessions for all SU athletes and students.
Fitz says, “One thing I’ve noticed about college students in general is that they don’t know how to turn everything off, they don’t know how to disconnect.”
Fitz believes these sessions can help students and student-athletes, especially, put the past away and look to what is coming next.
The sessions are held every Sunday at noon and Friday’s at 11, during the football season. The sessions are opened to all students, athlete or not and are in the Ship-Rec.
