Chlamydia is one of the most common STD’s in America. The statistics are so high, that it is likely that on your walk across campus you passed somebody who has had it.
Young adults are most at risk for contracting Chlamydia, making Shippensburg University particularly vulnerable. Other factors such as race and the area in which a person lives can also weigh in.
Medical Director for Etter Health Center, Dr. Todd Peterson, says that they see about two to three cases of Chlamydia a week. He would also like to remind students that the best defense against this infection is to use good judgment.
Free screening is available for all students at Etter Health Center.
