Shippensburg University is helping families in need this holiday season with a special Christmas tree in the CUB

SHIPPENSBURG – The Christmas tree in the CUB isn’t just for decoration, it’s ornaments are also giving back to the community.
Each ornament is a special angel tag labelled with a child’s name, age and a type of toy. The tags present a child who’s family cannot afford christmas presents in the Chambersburg and Shippensburg area.
In it’s third year at Shippensburg University the tree started with 200 tags but quickly ran out increases in the tag count to 300 hundred.
311 families, this year, will be given the opportunity to have presents on Christmas morning. Over 2000 angels were distributed to schools, companies and families throughout Chambersburg and Shippensburg.
Each receiving family will be given two toys and an outfit per child.
While there are no more presents to buy you can still support the Salvation Army and the Angel Tree Project by following the link and donating.
