SHIPPENSBURG- The national Women’s March movement inspired Shippensburg University to join in. It all started with Ship’s own Women’s Center. The idea to hold a march on campus came from graduate intern Anette Melendez and interim director of the Women’s Center Kelsey Roman.
Kelsey’s dedication for the march comes from a place of inclusion. Since she couldn’t participate in the Washington, D.C. march, she thought having one in Shippensurg made sense.
“We want to give students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to march for their rights. To march, empower and support marginalized populations on our campus as well as in our nation.”
The Women’s March on Shippensurg University is February 9th. It begins in front of Horton Hall and ends at the Ceddia Union Building amphitheater.
