WASHINGTON DC – President Donald Trump has only been in office for one week, but already his administration has controversy.
Congressional leaders have berated many of his cabinet picks, but a Republican-controlled Congress likely means all the nominations will be approved. Betsy Devos, tapped for Secretary of Education, has come under fire from both parties after she revealed neither she, nor her children, has attended public school or taken out student loans.
The Trump Administration is hopeful that the cabinet nominees will be approved soon. Compared to President Obama’s cabinet appointments, seven of whom were approved on Inauguration Day, Trump has had only 3 approved in the first week. More approvals should be coming in the next few weeks.
President Trump tweeted that he will also announce his nomination for Supreme Court on Thursday, February 2.
