SHIPPENSBURG – Henderson Gym will be transformed into a boxing arena on Saturday for the annual Shippensburg Boxing Show. Ship boxers have been preparing in the Henderson gym basement since the beginning of the school year. 17 matches will take place on Saturday beginning at 6pm.
Five Ship students will be fighting including Megan Reeser, the only female on the team. She earned her black belt before coming to college and joined the Jujitsu Club once at Ship. Reeser began boxing last fall and has a record of 1-1. She is the only female from Ship fighting on Saturday. Reeser looks to clinch a winning record in the 130 pound match.
The event is nearing the end of the collegiate boxing season and just weeks away from regionals held at Lock Haven University.
Tickets are available at the door; $6 for bleachers and $8 for ringside.
