SHIPPENSBURG- Shippensburg University’s Reach Out Program is raising money with a Zumbathon.
The fundraiser will help benefit the education of Reach Out’s partner school, Pathways of Learning, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
“Throughout the years we prepare with our group to travel down to the DR, which we do each winter. [We go there] to implement new teaching strategies and give out some new teaching manuals full of 40-50 lesson plans,” said Cody Olson, fundraising chair for Reach Out.
While on campus, Reach Out promotes the education needs of schools in the Dominican Republic.
The Zumbathon will help fund 10-15 students to travel in January 2018 to their partner school in Santo Domingo that they have been working with for the past eight years.
The event is in the CUB MPR on Monday from 7-8 p.m. The entrance fee is $5.
