SHIPPENSBURG –After over half a decade of negotiations, the Fogelsonger road walking bridge has finally been placed and paved. This bridge serves as a connector for the Cumberland Valley Rails to Trails Pathway, one of the dozens of rail-trail projects across Pennsylvania.
This path consists of over eleven miles of what was once railroad tracks, now turned into a walking trail for the community to enjoy. The Rails to Trails foundation hopes that this path is something both the community and university can enjoy.
The bridge is open to public use, and can be seen above Fogelsonger road near the rear entrance of Shippensburg University.
