SHIPPENSBURG-Shippensburg junior Dominic Stroh was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
The award came after Stroh claimed the individual title Saturday at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. The junior posted an 8K time of 26:12.3. Stroh’s performance helpedShippensburg University claim the team title as well, with all five runners scoring in the Top 10.
Stroh likes what the team has accomplished saying, “I’m definitely proud of what we have done so far this season and I am definitely excited to see the potential that we already have going into the post-season, how much we can meet it, and also exceed it.”
Twenty teams competed in Saturday’s race, including Division I school Pittsburgh, and PSAC schools IUP, Slippery Rock, Seton Hill and Pitt-Johnstown.
The PSAC Championships will be held in two weeks at California University of Pennsylvania with the men’s race beginning at 11 a.m.
