SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Shippensburg junior Dominic Stroh was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men’s Cross-Country Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
The award came after Stroh claimed the individual title Saturday at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. The junior posted a time of 26:12.3 in the 8K. Stroh’s performance helped Shippensburg University claim the team title as well, with all five runners scoring in the Top 10.
Stroh likes what the team has accomplished saying, “I’m definitely proud of what we have done so far this season and I am definitely excited to see the potential that we already have going into the post-season, how much we can meet it, and also exceed it.”
Twenty teams competed in Saturday’s race, including Division I school Pittsburgh University, and PSAC schools Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Slippery Rock University, Seton Hill University and Pitt-Johnstown University.
The PSAC Championships will be held in two weeks at California University of Pennsylvania with the men’s race beginning at 11 a.m.
