SHIPPENSBURG UNIVERSITY – Flags from around the globe will be flying on the quad Monday, when International Education Week kicks off.
This is a five-day celebration featuring activities for students, including plenty of international food for adventurous eaters.
Education week events will highlight the impact of international students at Shippensburg. There are 107 international students on campus this semester, representing 20 nations, according to Mary Burnett, Director of International Programs.
Events are planned to raise awareness of the differences on campus. said Burnett.
“Not everyone speaks the same language or share the same religion,” said Burnett. “We want to foster inclusiveness of all cultures.”
The celebration will also feature information about global work opportunities, and study abroad programs that are available to students.
