SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The men’s and women’s cross-country teams competed in the 2017 PSAC Championships on Saturday.

The No. 22 ranked men took first place, marking their third championship in school history joining the teams from 2010 and 2016.

The men defeated Edinboro University by 19 points to defend their title in the 8K competition at California University of Pennsylvania’s Roadman Park course.

Four SU runners finished in the Top 10, including seniors Alex Balla (second) and Calvin Conrad-Kline (fifth), sophomore Rob Moser (seventh) and junior Sean Weidner (eighth).

The women’s team took second in the PSAC Championships with 89 points, second only to Edinboro’s 87, in what would be the closest finish in league history.

The SU women had two runners finish in the Top 15, including senior Bryanna Dissinger (ninth) and sophomore Lydia Cagle (12th).

Both teams will head to the 2017 Atlantic Region Championships in two weeks at Lock Haven University.
