SHIPPENSBURG, Pa–In place of their annual Kwanzaa celebration, the Multicultural Student Affairs Organization decided to have a Celebration of Achievement.
Instead of celebrating Kwanzaa, they will recognize all minority students with a 2.5 or higher GPA.
This will be the first time in years that the club will not be celebrating Kwanzaa, but the administration feels as though the students deserve it.
They will also be honoring their graduating seniors with a traditional African ceremony.
As the seniors have “met an important making” in their life, the club’s celebration will have a church choir, stilt walkers, and much culture.
Even though these celebrations are for the student’s success, the festivities will still be connected to Kwanzaa and African tradition. Both will take place this Saturday, December 9th.
