SHIPPENSBURG – The Cora L. Grove Spiritual Center is continuing its food pantry program. The program was originally created to aid students during a period of slow state funding, but the program’s success has allowed it to function for years.
The pantry only accepts non-perishable items, which are checked regularly by student volunteers to ensure safety and freshness.
Hunger can be a sensitive issue so student privacy is a major component of the program. Participants are only asked to fill out a form saying what they took, and what they would like to see donated to the pantry.
The food pantry is open Monday to Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. Students interested in obtaining or donating food outside of these hours can contact Rev. Jan Bye or Rev. Roxanne Dennis.
