SHIPPENSBURG- Mother nature didn’t treat us so well during the first thirteen practices of spring ball, but on the fourteenth day the sun was finally shinning on Seth Grove Stadium. The Red- White spring game is a inters quad scrimmage showcasing the development and growth of the 2018 red raiders.
The teams were broken up into the first team defense and second team offense in the red jerseys, and the first team offense and the second team defense in white.
The first big play came early as Senior Richard Sheler intercepted a pass from Chase Yocum. Yocum shook it off with a beautiful drive capping it off with a touchdown catch form Charles Headen. The score was 7-0 white team. Brycen Mussina got under center and commanded a drive of his own ending with a touchdown pass to Eli Quniter. The score all tied up going into half time 7-7.
The game continued in the second half with a running clock, as the time ticked away both teams were looking for a big play. The play came when Chandler Turner got the scoop and score to seal the deal for the white team. Then final score was 14-7 white team.
The red raiders report for fall camp in august to start their 2018 campaign. The team will travel to Pittsburg for a game against Clarion September 1st.
