SHIPPENSBURG – Is selling back your textbooks a good way to make a quick buck or is it a scam?
With that time of year coming up you should know how to get the most out of the textbooks that you payed for but only probably opened once. The school bookstore is the common option because it’s convenient, but may not always be the best option. Although through the years, the ship bookstore has become more competitive with online buyers like chegg and amazon.
When asking around campus, older students advised staying away from the bookstore and looking into online retailers. This is because online retailers are more likely to give you more money over the bookstore for the books you’re selling to them. Amazon is a great place to sell your books and is frequently used by ship students. The only con is that they pay you in amazon gift cards.
If that isn’t your style, you can look for other websites like bookscouter.com. They pay on PayPal and even offer comparative rates to chegg and amazon. The nice thing about the bookstore though is that you can just walk in and sell your book without the hassle of sending it out and dealing with online retailers. So if your lazy that may just be your best bet, but if you want more bang for your buck, check out some online retailers instead.
