WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a controversial decision by the Trump administration, the word “Transgender” may be wiped from federal law.
The administration plans to change the definition of gender as “sex as either male or female, unchangeable, and determined by what a person is born with.” This change will completely take away the rights of over 1.4 million transgender people.
While the definition won’t be presented to the Justice Department until the end of the year, President Trump says the change is the best decision for America and he’s “trying to protect our country.”
If all goes as planned, it’ll completely eradicate defining gender as an individual’s choice, something the Obama administration put into place back in 2014.
