A grant was awarded to Shippensburg University to allow students and faculty to preserve and restore the Virginia coastline. Dr. Sean Cornell, associate professor of geography-earth science, helped the Chincoteague Bay Field Station obtain a $64,400 grant. The grant runs through Fall 2014 and will preserve after Hurricane Sandy devastated the area.
